Claude Sydney Meetup Recap — Know Your Claude Tools
Claude Sydney Meetup Recap — Know Your Claude Tools
This morning, the 02Ship community gathered at Level 4, 64 Clarence Street in Sydney for our first Claude Sydney meetup. Hosted at the AnXin Wealth venue, the event brought together developers, entrepreneurs, product managers, and AI-curious folks for a hands-on introduction to the Claude ecosystem.

What We Covered
The session — titled "Know Your Claude Tools: Claude, Cowork, Code — What, Why, and When" — walked through the three main ways to work with Claude:
- Claude Chat — the conversational interface for quick questions, brainstorming, and iterative help. We covered power-user features like the Option double-tap shortcut, screenshot sharing, and Projects.
- Claude Cowork — for sustained research, analysis, and document creation. Cowork reads local files, browses the web, and even supports scheduled tasks.
- Claude Code — the full developer environment that lives in your terminal. It reads your codebase, writes code, runs tests, and commits — all with your approval. We walked through the three modes: Ask, Code, and Plan.
The key takeaway: pick the right tool for what you're producing. Need an answer? Chat. Need a document or research brief? Cowork. Need working software? Code. Start with Sonnet for most tasks, escalate to Opus when depth matters.
Community Sharing
After the presentation, attendees took the open mic to share how they're already using Claude — from automating repetitive workflows to prototyping new product ideas. The diversity of use cases was a highlight, showing just how broadly these tools apply beyond traditional software development.
